The Temple of Koricancha, to be admired in all its magnificence. The church of Santo Domingo, erected, like other colonial buildings, on the walls of the ancient Inca constructions. From San Blas, the artisan district, you can walk down to Hatun Rumiyoc Street, to admire the world's most famous stone, known as the twelve-stone angles, set in the palace walls of what was once Inca Roca, today Palazzo Arzobispal. The Plaza de Armas, which once was the most important square of the Inca, the nerve center of their great empire. Here is the Cathedral from the three ships, resting on fourteen columns, which houses inside the colonial era of incalculable value. The Inca worship center of Qenqo, another of the complexes surrounding the Imperial city of Cuzco. It is a sanctuary located on the hill of Socorro and, like the rest of the centers, its true purpose is still unknown: it could be a court, an amphitheater or the tomb of some high Inca personalities. Puca Pucará lookout tower, a military construction consisting of large walls, terraces and stairways, which forms part of the Cuzco defense complex. An excellent example of military architecture.Near Puca Pucará is Tambomachay, monument of remarkable architectural excellence, considered one of the pillars of the vision of the Andean cosmos. Totally built of carved stone, it is composed of four walls or terraces with stairways behind the slopes of the hill, with a construction of perfectly assembled blocks of stone, overnight in Cusco city.

DAY 4  MARAS MORAY - SALTMINES

To The Village of Maras Located to the west of Cusco at 3300 m.s.n.m. From there you can see the Urubamba mountain range and the snowy summits of "La Verónica" (5682 meters above sea level) and the "Chikón" (5530 meters above sea level). Its important occupation began when the Inkan Cusquenian nobles were stripped of their palaces in the Qosqo and had They go out to settle in other small towns like Maras. It has a church made of adobes, typical of the religious architecture of the town, inside the church are kept canvases of the Cusqueña School.

To The Terraces of Moray It is located about 7 km southwest of Maras; It is unique archaeological group in its kind in the region. These are gigantic natural depressions or pits on the surface of the land that were used to build terraces or agricultural platforms with their respective irrigation channels. It is therefore a prototype of a greenhouse or biological experimental station that is quite advanced for its time. that the American man of antiquity inherits to the humanity a 60% of the vegetable products that he consumes, that the Andean man consumes a thousand and a half of diverse varieties of potatoes, a hundred and a half of corn, and many other products.

Salt mines: or "salt mines" located to the northwest of the town of Maras are about 3000 small wells with an average area of about 5 m², during the dry season are filled or "irrigated" every 3 days with salt water that emanates from a natural spring located in the part of the wells so that when the water evaporates, the salt contained in it gradually solidifies, later the salt is hit and thus granulated; the salt will then be bagged in plastic bags and sent to the markets of the region; Today that salt is being iodized, which is why its consumption is not harmful.

 Meals:  breakfast, lunch

DAY 5   TRAIN JOURNEY TO MACHU PICCHU

To The Lost City of The Incas Machu Picchu: The trip by train to the town of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu) is one of the most spectacular trips that exist in South America. Undoubtedly the geography is captivating its flora and fauna of the eyebrow of the jungle emerges between the mountains.

Machu Picchu lay hidden from the world for such a long time because its location is fairly remote and inaccessible. Machu Picchu is located high up on a mountainside. The nearest town is Aguas Calientes which is located down in the valley beside the Vilcanota River. Aguas Calientes is only a couple of kilometres away from Machu Picchu as the crow flies but it takes a bus about 20 minutes to climb the narrow, steep zigzagging dirt track that connects the two. The Incas built a trail up the side of the WAYNA PICCHU and built temples and terraces on its top. The peak of WAYNA PICCHU is about 2,720 meters (8,920 ft ) above sea level, or about 360 meters ( 1,180 ft ) higher than Machu Picchu. According to local guides, the top of the mountain was the residence for the high priest and thelocal virgins.

Machu Picchu Every morning before sunrise, the high priest with a small group would walk to Machu Picchu to signal the coming of the new day. The Temple of the Moon , one of the three major temples in the Machu Picchu area, is nestled on the side of the mountain and is situated at an elevation lower than Machu Picchu. Adjacent to the Temple of the Moon is the Great Cavern, another sacred temple with fine masonry. The other major local temples in Machu Picchu are the Temple of the Condor, Temple of Three Windows, Principal Temple,"Unfinished Temple", and the Temple of the Sun, also called the Torreon. Then we'll participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, The Sacred Sun Dial the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and various burial grounds.

The Sun Gates of Machu Picchu boast a picture - perfect vantage point overlooking Peru'smost famous ruins. Tourists flock to this outcrop high in the Andes Mountains to enjoy the same view featured on virtually every postcard depicting the Machu Picchu citadel. Also known as Inti Punku, the Sun Gates consist of two stones perched at a narrow passage in the crevice of the mountain just above Machu Picchu.
