Detailed Itinerary


  DAY 1  LARES TREK: HOT SRPINGS - HUARCAHUASI

Hot Springs - HuarcahuasiThis day our bus will pick you up from the hostel at 06:00 a.m and then go to the town of Lares, arriving at this place 11:00 a.m. In this town we will visit the thermal medicinal baths and then we will have a delicious buffet lunch. After having enjoyed our lunch we will start a walk through the valley where we will be able to observe beautiful landscapes that this village of Huaca wasi has"Camping"

Trekking: 5 to 6 hrs Distance: 10 km / 6.21 miles  Altitude: 4400 m./714476ft masl.

 Meals:  breakfast, lunch, dinner



  DAY 2  LARES TREK: HUARCAHUASI - IPSAYCOCHA LAGOON - PATACANCHA

We first follow the slow ascending path of Huarcahuasi town. From the upper part of the town, you will be able to enjoy the view over the snow peak that shapes the Lares Valley. Further on hiking, you will pass by a small blue lagoon, coloured by the minerals of the Andes, where you will have some local people selling you water or even beer in the middle of nowhere. That might sound weird, but it’s really fun to see local people with their beautiful clothing and in their natural environment.

After a few hours of hike, we will reach the highest pass (Ipsay Pass) at 4500 meters altitude. From here you will enjoy the last view over the Lares Valley and the surrounding mountains, descending to the Ipsaycocha Lagoon where the crew will be waiting for us with lunch. You will have some free time to enjoy a short walk around the lagoon to observe the Andean water birds, and sometimes even Pink Andean Flamingos.

Later on, you will take the path downhill for around 3 hours to the town Patacancha, having an amazing view over the Valley of Patacancha and its river of the same name while continuing our hike. We will arrive to the camping side in the end of the day, where our crew will be welcoming us with hot drinks and a delicious Peruvian dinner."Camping"

Trekking:  8 - 9 hrs Distance: 16 km / 9.94 miles  Altitude:  4500 m./13134 ft.

 Meals:  breakfast, lunch, dinner



  DAY 3  LARES TREK: PATACANCHA - OLLANTAYTAMBO - AGUAS CALIENTES

Patacancha to Ollantaytambo: As usual we will get up very early to enjoy our Buffet Breakfast, after having enjoyed our breakfast we will continue our walk to the archaeological center of Pumamarka place of stone constructions where we will have our guided explanation, continued our walk we will arrive to Ollantaytambo to tackle the train to the town of Aguas Calientes. Hostal Overnight.

Trekking: 4 hrs Distance: 12 km / 7.45  Altitude: 3900 m./12831ft masl.

 Meals:  breakfast, lunch, dinner



  DAY 4  MACHU PICCHU - OLLANTAYTAMBO - CUSCO

Train journey back to Cusco: This day we will get up very early to enjoy our breakfast, then we will go to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, explore with our guide in an average of two and a half hours to visit the places of greatest interest such as: the main square, the temple of the condor, Intihuatana, mortar room, temple of the three windows and other centers of importance. Then we will have free time for other suggested activities such as: more tour to the points of our greatest interest in MACHU PICCHU, climb to the WAYNAPICCHU, or go down to the town of Aguas Calientes to enjoy the thermal baths of the place. To then take our train back to Ollantaytambo and then our bus to the city of Cusco.
